The municipality was formerly known by its German name St. Saint-Léonard is first mentioned in 1218 as apud Sanctum Leonardum. The Saint-Léonard underground lake situated there is a tourist attraction. Saint-Léonard is a municipality in the district of Sierre in the canton of Valais in Switzerland.
